About
Mountain Laurel Racing is dedicated to organizing approachable, rewarding events in the great outdoors. Based in Western North Carolina, we specialize in adventure races, rogaine events, and non-traditional triathlons. We are owned and operated by a team of two that loves solving logistical challenges and connecting people with Mother Nature.
Backstory
We started our first adventure race unknowing and unprepared. We finished our first adventure race smiling and Googling for the next. A few years (and a few races) later, we formed Mountain Laurel Racing to create opportunities for people to have similar experiences.
We believe that anyone who enjoys being outside and challenging themselves can love adventure racing. Our goal is to facilitate a positive racing experience for each of our participants, and we know that this might not look the same for everyone. For that reason, many of our events include specialized segments catered towards different goals and experience levels. Our races are designed to meet you where you are, so come join us! A day spent outdoors is never a day wasted.

Andrew
When not planning races, working as a software analyst, or running calls with Transylvania County EMS, you can spot Andrew out on a river. You better look fast, though — he’s always on the move.
He enjoys expansive views, clear night skies, and a daily serving of Tillamook chocolate peanut butter ice cream.

Katherine
During the day, Katherine works in product management. At night, she can usually be found near a sewing machine. Her favorite outdoor activities are hiking, camping, and crunching through Fall leaves.
She loves the sound of rain, the smell of pine trees, and the taste of almost any salsa.
